' V A F E R '
The ' V A F E R ' outdoor bike was designed based on the concept of active aging. The term “active aging” refers to an older body that is becoming healthy and active. This term naturally reminds people of the silver generation. Designs aimed at the silver generation are usually reminiscent of calm and relaxing feelings, but we wanted to be bold and break away from that stereotype. We wanted to give the silver generation a message that said they can enjoy a stylish and wonderful life without forgetting their age. The word vafer means “sharp” and “precise” in Latin. It escapes the image of being feeble and weak and implies an image of a healthy and sophisticated silver generation. The sleek edge of the body frame is reminiscent of the veins seen on a sturdy muscular male body, while the design includes the study and sleek image of an outdoor bike.
ACTIVE AGING 이라는 컨셉으로 OUTDOOR BIKE ' V A F E R ' 디자인을 제안하였다. ACTIVE AGING이란 몸은 나이가 들어가지만 건강하고 활동적으로 늙어가자는 의미가 내포되어 있으며, 이 단어는 자연스럽게 실버세대를 연상케 한다. 실버세대를 겨낭한 디자인은 얌전하고 차분한 디자인이 연상될 수 있으나 우리는 고정관념을 과감히 탈피하고 실버세대들도 나이를 잊은 채 세련되고 멋진 삶을 누릴 수 있다는 메세지를 담아보고자 BIKE FRAME 디자인에서부터 강렬한 인상을 주었다. ' V A F E R ' 란 이름은 라틴어로 ' 세련된 ' ' 정밀한 ' 이란 뜻이 담겨있다. 이는 힘없고 나약한 이미지를 탈피하고 건강하고 세련된 실버세대의 이미지를 내포하고 있다. 바디 프레임의 날렵한 엣지는 건장한 근육질의 남성의 몸에 보이는 핏줄을 연상시킨다. 또한 날렵한 엣지 디자인을 통해 아웃도어 전용 바이크로 견고하고 날렵한 이미지를 연출하였다.
